University of Phoenix, Central Florida Campus Seeks Applicants from Orange or Seminole Counties

Application deadline extended until June 1, 2006.

University of Phoenix, Central Florida Campus is pleased to announce the availability of a $1,000 scholarship, established by the Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund, Inc.

Odessa Chambliss was the mother of Lucille O'Neal and grandmother of Shaquille O'Neal, who are both University of Phoenix graduates. Odessa was involved in the nursing profession for over 16 years. She loved her job and showed great compassion for her patients. Meanwhile, she was fighting a health care battle of her own: she was diagnosed with cancer in 1993. The fund was established posthumously to honor her commitment to the profession. Using the fund's resources for scholarships and cancer research, her family hopes to improve the quality of other people's lives.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must live in Orange or Seminole Counties, be majoring in a health-related degree program, and be currently scheduled for class.

Entries must be received by June 1. The recipient will be announced August 1. To request an application, please contact the Alumni Network at scholarships@phoenix.edu or (800) 795-2586.

Best of luck!
